“The Inteliam process makes you better”

Aaron Montecchio, a leading company in the Israeli automotive spare parts market and a member of ATR International, completed its second Inteliam assessment. Sammy Konfidan, CEO of the company, accepted to share his experience and his vision of the solution.

Having just completed your second assessment, how would you summarize your experience?

Inteliam stands out as not only a robust external audit system but also a valuable advisor. The platform shines a light on overlooked areas — those precise domains we tend to ignore in our daily operations but where significant improvements are possible. It has provided me with insightful and actionable ideas to enhance the company's performance.

The solution impacts multiple fields, including ESG — a facet increasingly vital for our partners and significant aftermarket suppliers in the world — and extends to business processes and financial aspects. Ultimately, it helps us to set annual and focused objectives on important issues that are normally not on our agenda.

The crucial strategy, in my view, is to judiciously select a handful of Inteliam's insights to focus on for real improvement. Trying to address everything guarantees progress in none.

Your current score surpasses last year's. What actions led to this improvement?

Last year, we put the focus on enhancing our business processes. A pivotal moment was acknowledging that while we had a 5-year plan, it wasn't documented. We rectified this by formalising our strategy for the short, medium, and long term, sharing it with our management team, board, and partners — a significant milestone for us. Additionally, we addressed IT inefficiencies, notably enhancing our ordering and replenishment systems.

This evaluation is just the start. Our next actions are centred on two primary environmental and operational initiatives: transitioning from single-use cardboard packages to multi-use boxes, which offers environmental and significant financial benefits, and replacing single-use plastic lunch boxes with a kitchen that serves food.

What advice would you give to a company considering Inteliam's solution?

Go for it! The Inteliam process makes you better: it fundamentally elevates your business.

My advice is to be strategic about who in your organisation takes the helm. In medium-sized companies, this initiative should be led by the CEO. You can involve your team to assist with documentation, but as a CEO, immersing yourself in the process is transformative. It compels you to scrutinise each aspect of your business and gives you new ideas to make your organisation a better one. The Inteliam platform is like having a good external advisor. For larger enterprises, the responsibility could lie with a VP of ESG.

What impact do you believe Inteliam is making in the industry?

Companies engaged with Inteliam embark on a steady journey of enhancement, striving to become superior versions of themselves. This trend is prompting established, more traditional firms to accelerate their innovation efforts.
