“Not only an evaluation: the beginning of a journey”
SMG Engineering Automotive Company, a prominent participant in the aftermarket automotive market in Egypt, undertook the Inteliam business and sustainability assessment. Emil Beshara, HR Director of the company, accepted to share his vision of the solution and the partnership.
Why did you launch the Inteliam evaluation process?
We initiated the Inteliam evaluation because we believe in continuous improvement. Being a substantial company, we wanted to gauge our standing within the industry and instil confidence in our partners. The Inteliam solution seemed to be the right opportunity to clearly define our position in the market as well as our future aspirations.
What does the evaluation consist of?
This is a very concrete solution that delivers a precise vision on four crucial pillars: sustainability, corporate processes, business expertise and financial metrics. But more than that, the evaluation involves a professional team guiding us to improve our processes. They helped us understand our strengths and pinpoint areas for improvement in the coming years. It definitely helps us build a clear roadmap for our development.
How did you implement it?
The implementation included a comprehensive questionnaire and a tight collaboration with Inteliam. Our internal teams, consisting of about three to four members, worked together diligently to collect the necessary information, documents and evidence. We initiated the process in October and successfully completed it by mid-January.
What are the results and the next steps for SMG?
The evaluation provided us with a fresh perspective and identified areas for improvement. Consequently, we've developed a 12-point action plan for the coming years, addressing aspects such as waste management, emissions monitoring, code of ethics and client satisfaction. For us the Inteliam solution is clearly more than an evaluation: this is the beginning of a journey!

What is your vision of the partnership?
Our partnership with Inteliam has been highly positive. The teams are very supportive, humble and patient. Working with them and allowing them to understand how we operate has given them the opportunity to provide us with the right advice. And it's not just about internal improvements; it's also about external perception. Collaborating with Inteliam has enhanced our credibility in the market, and being their partner has opened doors for us to gain recognition not only domestically but also on the international stage.
